Hi all,

I'm trying to get a GlobalSet Blueooth GPS mode BT-338 to pair with my N800. When I go to control panel->bluetooth->devices->new it doesn't find anything (just sits and spins forever).

Two cell phones and my PC can discover the GPS and pair with it easily, so I think the GPS is working fine. I've seen reports of other people who were able to pair GlobalSat GPSes with an N800, so it should be possible!

I also tried using Maemo Mapper and plugging in the MAC address, but it didn't work either.

Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks,
George

Two dumb suggestions, because I'm at a loss:
1. Reboot (common solution to most ailments on the IT's)
2. Are you sure that Bluetooth is on? If it is, there should, by default, be the Bluetooth logo in the notification panel, close to the battery and sound icons (top-right area of the screen)

Oh, and sorry to be pedantic, but please spell "bluetooth" correctly; otherwise other people may not be able to find this post if they search
Sorry I can't be of more help.

Two possibilities from my own experience...

1. Does the GPS have a mode to make it discoverable? e.g. some of them are only discoverable for 30s when you switch on, or when you hold down a certain button?

2. One of my GPS's that paired with a macbook pro with no security/passcode at all actually required a passcode to pair with my N800. After a bit of trial and error I found that 0000 worked.

FWIW i paired by: Control panel -> GPS location -> pair new device
