I'm still puzzled by the choice of EFL over Qt...

    From the source-code :

    http://source.tizen.org/git/

we can see that Tizen has glibc, bash, busybox, debianconf/debianutils (.deb packages ?), gcc 4.5, ncurses, openssh, perl, readline5, webkit, X11 Windows, lua 5.1, etc. So, there are 3 languages : C/C++, Perl and Lua. No Python...
Tizen seems to be a lot simpler than Maemo 4/5 and MeeGo 1.2 Harmattan, but Tizen at least is a real Linux : kernel, X11 and and glibc.

^Don't worry about it, Nokia will find a way to stuff it up and it will never "be Linux"

I still stand behind Qt as being absolutely necessary to power nix on ARM devices, without it things are just too explosive

Eh? Tizen is nothing to do with Nokia.

^ And Qt isn't yet ruled-out as playing a significant part last I checked.
There's def. going to be solid backwards compatibility (novomok or something), but it may go beyond that.
So there's no need for the confusion over "EFL only" just yet...

I happy about the release of Tizen. In my opinion the world needs an open-source system for mobile devices that can compares with Android and iOS. I hope that Tizen will evolve fast and will offer good quality for end users!
