on my test device works it.
I flash the openmode kernel, starts!
and back to default kernel, starts again without disclaimer

I have successfully re-flashed my N950 to fix the annoying login problems.
I did it very similar to this, but here's what I did differently:

- I turned off my device.
- I ran the first flasher command:

sudo flasher -F firmware.bin -f

- The flasher said it was waiting
- I plugged my device into the PC's USB port
- The firmware flashed, and the device went black.
- I ran the second flasher command:

Code:

sudo flasher -F firmware.bin -k openkernel --flash-only=kernel -f -R

- The kernel was successfully flashed, and the device woke up and booted into Open Mode.

Strange. My accounts and some of my settings were preserved, but not my applications and settings like "Developer Mode" had to be re-enabled.

But at least I have Open Mode and I don't have to fight with my device any more!

for me, it disappears if i reflash it and dont flash the openkernel. i think it does a simple runtime check for aegis open mode and displays it or not; i dont think it uses any write-once hardware or anything. {it could, but it doesnt appear to}

you mean 'devel-su', right? {or maybe 'develsh'}

That's awesome if true...
One of the big concerns was that it'd probably have a hw write-once flag.
Hence "potentially" making warranty claims "more challenging".*

*even if legally they can't refuse according to this post.

Ok.. so, it is easier to say what is NOT workin? So.. What is not working, if you/i flashing open-mode? Maybe some updates on the first post too?
