[Solved] Protect images from being displayed

Hi guys, first of all I'm new here on this forum (I wrote a post on the "newcomers" thread but I don't know why is not displayed) I just got my N900 a few weeks ago and I love it, is and impressive device, right now I'd installed CSSU, powerKernel, speedpatch (batterypatch I had to remove it, as it got me to a reboot loop), rootsh, ssh, and plenty more goodies ,but there's something that bothers me a little and thats why I need your help.

If I store pictures on my memory card, is there a way to tell the N900 to not show those images on the "Photos" application? I see there's an option called "Filter by folder", but If I choose "All images" the ones on the mmc will show on the application, what I need is those images (on the mmc) to be protected from any one who has access to the phone, let's say a friend who want to check some pictures on the phone (taken by the camera), like I'm thinking some kinda hack that ask me for a password in case I want to see the pictures on the mmc.

    Thanx

    Edit.
sorry guys, never mind now I got it working
I read http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...protect+folder but somehow hiding the folder wasn't working as selecting "All images" also showed the ones on the "hidden folder" but now is working

Just rename all the images you want to hide with a dot preceding the name. i.e

    imagename.jpg to .imagename.jpg

You should be able to do them in Filebox app.

Thank you, yeah I did, but I don't know why it wasn't working at first, now everything is ok thank you, now one more question is there a way to select the hidden folder from within the "Photos" app in order to see the pictures I have in that folder?

You can't view the images using the standard image viewer. But they are still viewable if you go through Filebox. Not sure if there's an app out there that would show them.

Or you can put them in the ringtones folder, dunno why it works but it does.
