For those who bought their phones from SingTel, has anyone tried bringing it to Nokia Care and just ask to be flashed with the generic firmware(same as those on N9s bought from nokia shops)?

old thread, but its probably the most search-friendly. there are lots of things you can do, and theyre all in /usr/share/MProgressIndicator.
anyway:
Code:
rm -rf /usr/share/MProgressIndicator/themes/opengl
echo custom > /usr/share/MProgressIndicator/themes/mprogressindicator.conf

Why not just put the phone on silent? Mine is on silent and never makes any noise.

to each her own. this isnt about just avoiding the startup sound; its about disabling it. there are many ways to not hear the startup. one could start it up under a pillow, or whistle really loud.

what you see while meegotouchhome is loading is completely customizable. you can replace the boot video, remove the boot video and see default images, remove the boot video and see custom boot images, etc.
