Some website, will CONSISTENLY crash my N800.
Notably, Maemo.org, and the Nokia tableteer site. The initial
page load will go about 1/2 way, then the CPU goes to 100%, stays there, and - boom, White Nokia screen. One otehr weird things,
last time accessing the Nokia tablette site, caused the screen to slowly fade to black, with steraking from left to right. Device was then hosed and needed battery pull to reboot..
Is OS2008 error handling really this dismal? No errors, just a cold boot?
Any ideas? Using a 1GB card inernal with 128MB extended VM, and a 2GBcard in the expternal slot.
    Thanks
    Harold

wow! I thought *I* was the only one with browser issues. I experienced reboots at the beginning because of the browser, but not recently... I've run into other problems. As a matter of fact, I'm prepping my N800 for a reflashing right now because I need to start from scratch to figure out what is causing these issues.

Sorry I'm not more help, but hey, at least misery loves company, right?

    Did you restore from backup?

Nope... saw the threads on the issues that restore can cause. My next step might be to pull my SD cards, do a clear data, and reflash..

Only hassle there is setting stuff up again, but if it might help, well. I've got lots of time..

    Cheers

I just got my N800 and seem to have problems also. I didnt have a backup just straight upgrade from 2007 to 2008. I just disabled the VM, which I had at 128MB.

Right, then it's a corrupt internal card. Reformat it and try again, HAC.

Thats not me.. Problem existed long before I even tried VM.
I'll still do a complete wipe/flash and see what happens.

Cleared device, formatted cards, re-flashed - same issue...
The error handling on this device is abysmal!

No logging to speak of, no clues as to why the browser causes a cold boot.. Good thing I don't use it much as a surfing tool.

    Cheers

    EDIT!
more clues - with Internet radio playing, I was able to browse Maemo.org with out a crash, but after about 20 seconds, the N800 locked up to a black screen, no sound, no response, and needed a battery pull to reset.

    ->
    bugs.maemo.org

This is critical.. and not acceptable.

My device is very stable for these website.
Do you see the memory consumption increase like crazy?

No... CPU goes to 100% and then the device locks..
    Cheers

EDIT - I am trying various settings for "Wlan_sleep_timeout" on the assumption it could be a router/N800 compatibility issue, just in case.
