Friend of mine had MfE activated before he got PR1.2. After that he did MfE disable and he enabled Gmail. Now his Phonebook constacts are lost.
    How to get them back?

    This should work:

1- turn MfE back on and synchorinze, contacts should be visible again
2- Export all contacts from the options menu
    3- Turn off MfE
4- go to File Manager and open MyDocs/Contacts folder
5- open each contact and hit save to keep it in the phonebook

if you're using the now re-branded Nokia Suite, connect your N9.

Just select all the smses in the application and drag n drop them to the inbox of your N9. it'll take time if you've a large number of smses. i suggest not to copy more than 1000 smses in one go. after copying the phone will sort them automatically (will take somewhile) as which are sent by you and which were received.

I installed nokia suite 3.2.100 but it said it's not compatible for N9 and asked me to use nokia link.

Is there any trick to make it recognized N9? Thxk.

ya i'd installed ovi suite v3.0.0.290 first, synced once with my n9 then updated ovi suite to "nokia suite" v3.2.100. the sync then worked. however, it doesn't sync with versions higher than v3.2.100

Looks like I was 'beaten to the punch'...
Still worthwhile having a squiz at the post linked-to in the 1st link.
And having a quick scan of the thread in the 2nd link.
