Hi all, I am new to the forum. Is there anyway to speed up the browser as it is painfully slow?? I have the internal memory card setup for 128MB of virtual memory. I just received the N800 a few days ago, and was thinking of returning it for maybe a Palm TX, as I have read that the web browser is extremely fast. Thanks.

Is there a possibility that the internet connection your using has a limited speed? Or maybe its fast, but if its shared other users are hogging it?

I was thinking that it could be my wireless connection. I have a Linksys Wireless-B router. Is this sufficient????

That depends on how its set up. What speed do you get with your internet connection? Is it secured? Could other people be using your bandwith if its unsecured?

The new 2008 os with the new browser really made the n800 slow in browsing. I'm really thinking of downgrading to 2007.

I checked my wireless network and it was unsecured, maybe others in my Neighborhood were sharing it with me. I secured the network with a key. I also enabled MTU on the router and set Speed and Duplex to Auto. It seems to be working better.

Cool, dont forget it could be that your ISP is having speed problems which are effecting you. If your on 1MB or above you shouldnt have any browsing problems, just as long as your internet connection is not being used by anyone else.

I only got my tablet 5 days ago, and almost instantly upgraded it to OS2008 before installing things, so I cant compare browsing speeds with OS2007, but for me, the speeds im getting are fast enough

You should check with your provider, 400k is like 0.4MB which is quiet slow these days. this could be holding you back.
