Has someone tested that batt?
Test is pending when i receive my battery soon.

impeham i made my widget to be accurate, the meter is based on actual REAL measurements by me, and the official graphs on LiPo & Li-ion battery's, i removed a *battery*.so file (can't remember where right now), but this removes the battery icon i the main bar (Clock, signal etc....)
Also.......................... Please read the posts (1 - 3)..........................

@impeham, if You're taking Your data from i2c, You already got perfectly real values (*if) Your fuel gauge chip is calibrated properly, see my signature). Chp gives you even more accurate results than dr_frost_dk's meter (with all due respect, and without any offense) - as temporal voltage drop due to usage doesn't affect it. Just be sure, that You're not "bombing" i2c with too many read request (via Your widget) - one for 30 seconds or minute should be more than enough. In other case, You may be wasting battery power.

As for charging, simply use charge.sh script (also mentioned somewhere in my post about calibrating). It doesn't use bme for anything, and charges perfectly. Just remember, that you *can't* use it to charge from PC USB ports, just wall charger and such things (exception for ultra-rare dedicated charging USB ports in some motherboards/notebooks - they're not data port + have higher current limit, so You can use them). don't even try it with Pc ports, as it may make OS to shout at You (in best case) or fry fuse/whatever on PC motherboard, in worst.

Great!, looking forward to it, it seems like my N900's batt is close to its demise, i hope that one is a good deal.

Greets.

If i want to allow the device to charge from usb also (because i usually do this), is bme the only option?

Well so far the SCUD battery's have not disappointed, so i will say with 98% chance, go buy the blue DREAM, or wait 5-10 days (approx) for my test of it.

impeham ill let Estel answer, he is more into the deeper workings of the N900 power/charging system

For now, yes. Pali is working on changing this, but there is no ETA yet.

Alternatively, one could edit charge.sh (*warning!* High level of charging/scripting knowledge required, or face possible hardware damage) to use 100 mA as MAX current. Obviously, such charging would be painfully slow (~13h to charge regular battery, 30h to charge dual-scud ), but only 100 mA is allowed from PC USB port, unless proper client negotiation is performed (which is now handled by BME, and allow 500 mA sucking).

well eventually all is well - it seems that removing the battery from the status bar solved the issue - BME is still enabled, charging works normally and there are no more annoying sounds when the battery is low. I also added a special led pattern to be activated on rsoc less than 12% and disabled if higher.

Thanks for the help.
