installing maemeemo manually using guide is almost 100% safe.. (only if you know how to do it correctly and do everything as directed) but i think the easier method (.deb) is little buggy at present as its still WIP.

Do you have latest cssu (3.1)? if not get it, and check, if yes, reinstall hildon-desktop.

on xterm >
sudo gainroot
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
apt-get install --reinstall hildon-desktop

and reboot ....

now perform [gconf portrait wallpapers steps] and reboot.

finally set/change wallpaper in portrait mode (p.s. the portrait wallpaper must be horizontal)

p.s.2. if wallpaper is not correctly set i.e. if its stretched then rotate it to horizontal on PC ( two times) and move it to your N900..

Done!

afetr installing this no more media files detect...even music, videos and pictures..they all cant detect by media or photo apps..

how can i remove this??pls help...

you can rotate by (image viewer) in n900

another question..when in portrait mode i tap the messaging and other apps but it automatic rotate to landscape...how can i fix it ti portrait???and also the wallpaper??

i have this problem..

no files or folder detected on file manager
no media files on media player
filebox not working anymore
other apps not working anymore...

what is the problem??pls help me...
i dont have any backup...

Did you follow my advice in my previous post?
If youve got a problem with portrait wpapers
reinstall:
maemeemo
if not works then:
hildon-desktop

for apps stayin in landscape force rotation in cssu features app
