    hello guys
can we make backup image for n900 instead flashing
    include:
    latest updates
    CSSU (testing or stable)
    latest kernel
    video codec
    backup menu
    etc

    just an idea
is this good idea or bad , why?

It's a good idea and there has been disscusion of creating a maemo image with programs already installed before...

Unfortunately many people could not decide on what packages were deemed as essential to include in that image.

i will recommend you not to make backup file after installing cssu stable or testing using backup- menu
i have to flash my device every time i install backup of cssu stable

No need to apologise mate, it was so long ago now that it would be buried in the archives by now. Part of the problem was due to the greatness of the n900 itself. The phone is that customisable that you would never see two the same and everyone liked to have different programs.

I have always though it would be cool to have my own personal image but then I would have to create one every time I installed a program that i liked and worked well.

Back up performs this task well in many cases and is alot quicker to create, which reminds me... I need to reflash mine very soon.
