    hello,

after doing the typical usb fix I did a swap of the 2 internal loudspeakers.

I took 2 loudspeakers from a 5800 and put it in the n900 body.

1 on them fits perfect, the other one ( near the camera ) needs some mods to fit well.

also 5800 are bigger than original ones, so they don't contact well with the mainboard.

    the "problem" starts here...

I soldered them ( 5800 ) to the mainboard and switched ON the phone.

    wow they sound louder.

I played music at maximum level and output level is higher but sound is too sharp.

any ideas? what can i do to make sound less sharp??

just for trying I took 2 big loudspeakers ( 3W input ) and just can say...wow...

playing a movie with that speakers in a phone is a nice experience.

    regards

the other one just was a try...

I tried also with 2 speakers from a thinkpad t61 and sound was Perfect, but they won't fit.

    regards.

Great! Just what the doctor ordered.

I've been googling around to know which Nokia phone has the loudest speaker; I found out it was 5800 and X6. And I come over here just to see your post to confirm that.

About the sharpness, have you tried using a music player with an equaliser?

I want to swap my speakers too. Though I don't know where to get a 5800 speaker, but I'll keep searching though.

here you can see the difference between n900 and 5800 loudspeakers.

    n900 left-5800 right.

i have tried the sound with symfonie app and sound is better but not perfect.

Hope you don't mind I have another question. Which 5800 is that exactly? Is it 5800 Xpress music or 5800 Navigation edition?
