Hi there! This morning the touchscreen was working perfectly, after a reboot it doesn't work anymore. It didn't get any crashes or anything similar. I tried to reflash the os with this guide http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_firmware#N900 but with no results ;( any other ideas?

    Thanks for all

some people have noticed that removing their screen protector revived the screen. Anyway the digitizer is a relatively cheap component to replace

Thanks for your reply I don't have any screen protector. What is a digitizer?

The part of the screen that recognises touch input. It's a transparent film with a ribbon cable that connects to the motherboard. The original nokia one in a nokia care store in Greece costs 60€ but you can find cheaper ones on ebay.

Beware though because I bought a relatively (for ebay prices) expensive one from an ebay seller for a 5800 because he claimed to sell an original one and it was not original (the original 5800 digitizer has a polarizing filter). Moreover it didn't work ok, the contacts weren't soldered correctly.

I'm not sure that is this component to have the problem, it's worth to replace it or maybe I should get a new phone? I saw on ebay some for 100 €

If everything else works it most probably is the problem. Spending around 10$ to see if this is really the problem is imho totally worth it
