Recently I've noticed that the GUI for setting bluetooth (turn bluetooth on/off, modify name, .. ) are no longer working. Bluetooth itself is working well, I can use the bluetooth hci command and my car handsfree is connecting, but when going to bluetooh menu - it shows me I have bluetooth turned off and no devicename set. The device name and other settings in /etc/bluetooth/main.conf are correct. Rebooting or restarting the bluetooth subsystem with stop bluetoothd and start bluetoothd do not make any difference.
Does anybody have any clues what went wrong? Or do I have to reflash ?
Thanks for the info!
I have an update on this. Just had the same problem this morning when trying to use the fm radio. Got an error saying something like "Couldn't activate Bluetooth & FM Radio combo chip". Then I couldn't get bluetooth on manually either.
Tried reboot, nothing.
Tried "stop bluetooth" and "start bluetooth", nothing.
Tried removing the <mac_addr> directory, nothing.
A few more reboots etc.
I backed up and also tried deleting /var/lib/bluetooth/maemo-calleid-none. Then I restarted bluetooth once more from terminal. After that turning on bluetooth from the gui worked!
