Recently I’ve spent a little time getting the Ogre3D engine into a state where it’ll work on the Nokia N9 and N950.

To test the port out a bit more extensively I decided it’d be a good idea to try porting an existing game, at which point rzr suggested Those Funny Funguloids. So after a fair amount of hacking to make it compatible with my version of Ogre and to make the controls work reasonably on a touch screen device I have a playable version.

The aim of the game is to collect mushrooms (…IN SPACE), and bring them back to your base without running into any asteroids. Only mushrooms of the same colour as your base are added to your score and your base changes colour each level (but you can hang on to mushrooms between levels and score them later). The controls are fairly simple, touch the left side of the screen to turn left, the right side to turn right and the middle to start moving.

When I have a bit more time I’ll see about writing a little tutorial on making use of my modified version of Ogre3D to create 3D applications and games in a way that’s easy to distribute.

Video of it in action

i havent tested , but do you know other ogre3d games that should be build :-)

If it matters let me suggest to look at ois , I packaged it for debian and rebuilt for harmattan ...

It could help to manage device's events No idea if it can be used that way

Yep, you can use the space key to start moving and the left and right arrow keys to move left and right.

Those Funny Funguloids uses OIS for its input, so its certainly useful. Once I've finished my tutorial on packaging games for the Ovi Store/general easy distribution I'll see about getting things into a state where you can build all the packages separately for people using *proper* repositories .

Ehm I feel out of place looking at these posts I barely understand a thing of but do I need something else to run this game other than what's been given? I'm getting a "can't install unable to trace installation package dependencies" error. I'm on the N9 and yes I have an internet connection.

What OS version are you running? (PR 1.0, 1.1, 1.2?) You can find out by going in to "Settings -> About product".

1.2
And the thing that got me thinking I might need something else installed is that I get a message saying it's searching for required applications for about 10 seconds. Never seen that on other installations.
