    Why is Flash-video not smooth

    I wonder why online Flash-video isn't smooth on my N800 (os2007 or os2008).
I also have a Archos 605wifi which shows the same video's perfectly.

Differences in processor maybe? It seems to have a slower processor (BogoMIPS) Here's what's posted about it somewhere.

    Code:

    BogoMIPS?

Mine reports all the same data as yours (ARMv6) but the value for BogoMIPS is 388.54.

Mine sometimes reports 388.54 and at others 160.68. It's probably just the power management system adjusting the CPU speed.

Maybe the Archos takes advantage of the video acceleration hardware while the N800 does not.

did you let the video load before hitting play? (like finish streaming)

You're all confused. The N8x0 throttles between 165MHz and 400MHz depending on usage. The Archos has less overhead and hardware video acceleration.

The n8x0 tablets also have hardware video acceleration, but it's not used by the flash player. MPlayer and the built-in media player take advantage of this. If you save the flash video to disk with uktube or other means, mplayer will play it smoothly.

When you start a flash video on a page, let it start then hit the pause button and let it load a bit. Then hit play. If you let it preload enough it will be smooth.
