Actually, I wasn't using videocenter for videos at all. It made a great audio podcast downloader.
For now, I'm back to using gpodder until I can tryout the new version of Canola.

As far as the vpn software goes:
I installed. vpnc 0.3.3 maemo 4
and its graphical front end vpnc-gui 0.3.4
Seems to work fine and i even pulled in our corporate config. file from
cisco vpn. their. "x.pcf" file worked.

I've flashed to the latest OS2008 beta for the N800. I was previously using the N810 version. My gpodder install instructions to remove the launch wrapper still work for the latest beta. I've added gpodder to the wiki along with the instructions on how to get it working on the latest OS2008.

Enjoy!

I just added Thomas Schmidt repository to the great http://gronmayer.com/it/ page. It contains such goodies as:
  • gnumeric
  • iptraf
  • isearch-edit
  • osso-statusbar-cpu
  • tomiku
  • mobilevdr
  • mtr
  • mtr-tiny
  • openvpn

To add it manually use:

catalogue name: Thomas Schmidt
web address: http://people.debian.org/~tschmidt/maemo/chinook/
distribution: ./
components: (leave empty)

Whoa, where did this thread go? It seems pretty important as long as lots of things aren't yet ported to 2008.

Sticky-worthy?

I think I've got this sorted out.

@JeffElkins - I'm afraid I'm seeing the same problem. I installed your repo from Gronmayer but don't see any of the packages.

I upgraded my firmware to the latest 2008, 3 applications I can't get installed are maemopad+, gmail notifier and maemomap. Can't get them to install, can any of you been able to install any these programs?

If you were able to install, what procedure did you use?

Thanks!
