Manual menthod is fully stable, .deb version has mixed results, try a your own risk..

    try...

    [in xterm]
    sudo gainroot
    apt-get update
    apt-get upgrade
    apt-get remove maemeemo
    apt-get install maemeemo

    hope this solves the problem...

Using the above commands in xterm does not solve the issue... but FAM did solve it. I guess it is due to the second notification ( Yellow strip in the center) where you are being informed that you have to manually replace the trasitions.ini file.

    Hi there all..

I'm a new Nokia N900 user and i was reading this thread and iIm very interested to get the MaeMeeMo UI on my N900

Ive re-flashed the phone with a custom partion flash EMMC_By.MiDO.FaYad.8.giga and with the RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin

All i have installed is the faster app manager and rootsh so far..

I have downloaded the MaeMeeMo.deb file from this web page http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...meemo/1.3.0-3/
and stored it in /home/user/MyDocs, and typed in to X-terminal

    sudo gainroot
    apt-get install maemeemo -y

And this is what is showing

    /home/user # apt-get install maemeemo -y

    IIAC3II:

MaeMeeMo is well worth the trouble of getting it installed. CSSU is also essential for all N900 users. You have found your way to the best that the N900 has to offer, I think.

No, Its not possible, because its coded into hildon-status-menu (if i'm not wrong), and the Hildon UI (hildon-desktop), and not easily editable. (may be closed source ).

For any problem regarding .deb package of MaeMeeMo, please contact the Maintainer (@Marmistrz).

    Thank you,

@To All: 1. The MaeMeeMo release is delayed because I had to reflash my N900 a few days ago, and I lost most of my work, and I couldn't find much free time nowadays... Anyway I promise I will release it some day...
    2. Transitions file needs to replaced manually, even in .deb mode.
    3. Contact MaeMeeMo .deb maintainer @Marmistrz for problems related to .deb packages

    Thank You.
