    The Point of Tracker Process?

From my recent experience, the system process Tracker truly was a pain in the ***.

It ate up to 90% of CPU and consumed battery juice at a pace of 3% per 10 minutes. I had to do a total system cleanup before it turned out normal again.

My question is what's the point of Tracker, except from updating music library and picture gallery?

I understood N9QTweak has this option to add folders to IgnoreList. How can I use this to my advantage? Or is it just a way to hide picture from gallery?

Can I disable Tracker? What are the possible consequences?

    Thx in advance.

It not only indexes music and gallery, but e-mails, sms, text, calendars, bookmarks, apps, etc. as well. It powers the search facility, which works quite well and fast in my experience.

It's also responsible for the call-list (answered calls, missed calls, and so on)
