Today I tried to boot ubuntu with minimal option (used on default options like ssh, local, apt-utils. without lxde and lxdmetc). Still ubuntu is not booting. My last message is
Code:
Loading /lib/udev/ketmaps/nokia-n900-keys.map
and one blinking cursor.
This happened to me as well. It turned out that xorg package was not installed.
Next target -> To implement GSM calls in my phone.
I would love to have this working as well. However, my immediate concern is to have a stable and usable internet tablet experience. My main use-cases in this scenario are:
* wifi networking: has issues
* web browsing: fine
* terminal: great
* email: still no good solution
* RSS feeds: open
* internet messaging: open
The issues I have so far:
* wifi disconnects when device goes idle, and wicd does no cope well, so a manual reconnection is required
* I could not find a nice email app. Thunderbird and kmail-mobile are too heavy for the N900, and kmail is very desktop-oriented
