I like very much the resistive screen of the n900.

It's the only phone I know with a useful browser, because you can tap on very little details and links.

And you can use the pressure sensitive myPaint.

The capacitive "stylus" I know are very bad and not precise and not pressure sensitive.

I don't need multi touch, if the OS is provided for single touch.

A digital compass would be nice.

I like very much the excellent work of Nokia on Maemo.

N900 successor as many have said above, with a multi-touch resistive pressure sensitive screen.

And system wide swirl to zoom.

better connectivity than the N9 PR1.2 (wifi, gsm,..... like in the "old" E-72 for example) also with "low signals" (and with the respect of the EU norms)
all the EAP protocols : and off course the EAP-SIM protocol, please!!!!!

and with the ability to really disconnect all "social network" (aka FB, twitter, skype,...) with a real off button....

I would be happy with mid-range specs + hardware keyboard. Anything more than would a bonus. Doubt that they even have resources for high-end device. Even companies size of HTC are whining about how difficult it is to get high end spec parts.

- S.A.R. : less than 0.5 W/kg.
- A "New" N900 with a better CPU
- Screen : resistive, multitouch if possible. We appreciate this so much when it's too cold. It's ridiculous to buy special gloves with capacitive screen phones...
- Wifi Tethering included (a community app provided this on the N900, so : it wasn't official...)

It was faaaar perfect 2 years ago, so adjusting cpu power would be perfection today.
And we were all so frustrated N950 wasn't public...
That's where Nokia missed a thing : the N-Series likers (N770 & N810 & N900 & N950, N9 is for hipsters).
As you may know, some are buying 2 N900 in order to have one ready when their everyday N900 will crash.

I regret having selt my N900 for a Nexus S (i was curious about android, and the cpu was becoming too small for my use on N900 : LAMP), but the friend using it is likin' it so !!!

I just want you to sell me some really powerful hardware based on a fairly common SoC, with a keyboard and a fairly large screen (~4.3 inches). Stylus/Wacom Digitizer can be skipped, as long as I have a SD card slot, a full size SIM slot and a removable battery.

We'll install our own OSes on it

I prefer an FM-Transmitter over a camera. In fact, if a cheaper option was offered without a camera I would buy that one.

My top request is that it has good PDA capabilities (Calendar, audible reminders, Contacts, etc.), a good web browser (Flash would be nice but is not a deal breaker), and the ability to run Pyside or PyQt applications. Oh, and if it has a phone or not is not important.

- 720p resolution is more than enough.
- 1+gb ram is a must!
- 128gb internal storage is a must!
- i use stylus more than anyone can think so i debat if resistive or capacitive..
- maemo or meego? doesnt matter as long as it is scalable.
- dual core is the minimum these days
- 2 usb2go ports
- n900 have a superb soundcard, bring something similar!
