Hi,
I tried to install KDE in my new N810. I used the file for the mmc1, but when I intalled the first file after about 6 minutes an error appeared on screen "impossible to install the app".
Why?? my mmc is 2GB

Did you have any files on the 2GB card before you started the install? I assume 2GB card has to be completely empty from other stuff...

I think I run into similar problem before on my 4GB card that was half full... and after I made more space available my install was successful. Maybe KDE needs over 2GB free space at the time of install? Penguinbait should know better...

I formatted the mmc with win in fat... then I copied the file on mmc...

Thanks Penguinbait, though necessarily in advance because I have to go out right after work and buy a 2GB card for my N810 so I can take advantage of your prodigious efforts! I am the very user you describe above.

Thanks especially for your very laudable goal of making this accessible to the non-gifted! I have watched with great interest your progress on this project through your posts and the threads associated with them, but not being competent enough to attempt the whole partitioning process had me literally waiting for this day! I do believe a 'woo hoo' is in order (or will be later today when I have it up and running!)

I have your similar problem. When I launch first file, after 5 second I see a window with "Impossibile installare local-mmc1" (impossible to install local-mmc1).

I'm also getting "Unable to install..." on my N800. I'm trying to install to internal SD, using MMC2 files. To be clear, is MMC2 the internal card on an N800? I've searched for more information on this without results. I'm using a 2GB SD, formatted on the N800, and although it says it's unable to install, I do see a .img file on the card. The external slot is empty, just to make sure I use the right card, but I'm not certain I'm using the correct file.

Please check your free device memory in the tablet: At one point my tablet run out of internal (256MB total) device memory! You can look that in the Control Panel and then Memory. You should have about 100-120MB free on a tablet with no (or minimal) installed applications.

I didn't bother to look where the free memory did go... My tablet was fresh install so I just flashed it again and KDE install worked fine after this.

My free memory for application is 30 mb, internal memory is up 1,5 gb and extarnal memory is 4gb.....
