    Hi all,

since getting a N9 my trusty old N900 has been collecting dust and I am not sure what to do with it. Before selling it I thought I ask if there is anybody in the community deserving it. Maybe it could go into another community program. Suggestions welcome.

N900: A few years old, brand new JAPOD, lost little magnet which keeps the kick stand attached to the back cover. Screen protector, cosmetically pretty good.

just edited the title as this is not a normal 'for sale'.
Maybe it should be moved into another forum.

You should contact ohrn from the Opera team. He had 2 N900's, both died.. Thats the reason why there is no Opera 12 for the N900. Maybe they will accept your offer and update Opera for the N900

Nice one GreatGonzo! My 2 suggestions are:

    1. As HtheB said ship it to ohrn, he is a developer a this could potentially lead to opera 12 on the N900.
    2. Donate it to the coding competition.

If you do decide to send it to ohrn (and he wants it) then let post here and we will have a whip-around to get monies for shipping. (we did this once before for davyp to get an n900 to develop phoneME on)

That won't help, the availability of an N900 is not an issue for him and not the reason for probably not porting Opera 12.

See http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...postcount=1197 for his reaction on an offer I already made.

this is nice from you , that's true TMO spirit

Let me suggest you all applications and ask the community where should it go :-)

I wish I had one to backport maemo6 packages from shared repo to m5 , even if it is in bad shape , I need only a ssh to it , it's enough in a first step...

    Regards...

Proposing it to the TMO competitions seems quite a good idea The N900 is still really attractive for people who want much more than a smartphone.
