PCQ, I really really appreciate your help, my questions are only to verify the problem, so I can then figure out how to fix it.
I was just curious about the tar, if tar on tablet is used /bin/tar, there are known issues with FONTS.
Reinstalling KDE again to test, god I wish I had two of these
Right, I totally understand about the tar thing - I had read about the tablet tar being an issue with fonts too. I should add that just to be sure when I untarred KDE and SUP I used the GNU tar with those too just incase
I totally and completely appreciate all you've done - my N810 with KDE installed is hands down the best damn handheld device I've ever owned and I've owned 7 (mostly Palms and a couple of Zaurus').

Is there a way to make the Bluetooth work with KDE? I usually use the N800 on the road paired with my Blackberry 8830 for insternet. But I don't see where or how I can use the Bluetooth on the N800 using KDE.

Penquinbait has a shortcut from KDE to Maemo Control Panel in the system tray by default - it the icon that looks like a wrench. If you tap that icon you can then turn on BT from the control panel. Another option is to install switchOnBT and then run that from the command line as root.
For the majority of Maemo apps I've set up shortcuts to them on my KDE desktop. I wish I could get the permissions for a switchOnBT desktop shortcut done right then I could just tap an icon and have it launch for me. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

PCQ, I am interested the the shortcuts your making, please feel free to send them to me and I can include them, or make a page to host them, people could just download the shortcuts they want.
Running KDE is a pretty wild capability... thank you penguinbait and everyone else.
Is there something to do screen size settings-wise to be able to prevent some dialogs from being displayed larger than the physical screen? It's tough to configure some settings when the prefs panel is bigger than the screen because the Apply button is south of the border. Most times I can drag the panel above the screen top via the multi-desktop tool but not always. Going to display settings or screen resolution settings fails because it says my x server won't support resizing.

Thank you,

See my post here: http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...t=14680&page=9 & see post #88 and an alternative in post #92 (sorry something is wrong with hyperlinks on the forums right now) where there's answers to pretty much the same question - it's not an absolute fix (not resizing windows) but I find mine a very acceptable work around .
@Penquinbait - what would I send you for my shortcuts would I just copy and send you my *.desktop files? I've never shared a shortcut before
