I woke up and found my n900 with red sim icon, no IMEI and ''all telephony functions including emergency calls are disabled due to a communication error''

when flashing : ''erasing CMT'' twice then ''CMT flashing failed''

nokia suite doesn't recognize the device, tried putting things between battery and Sim tray but no luck.

any ideas?

This was happen to me twice already. The first time I have to uninstall the Samsung Kies and replace the Nokia Suite for an older version. The second time I just replace the Nokia Suite for an older version. I think that the problem is with USB Cable driver (which not detect correctly the device) and another program (like the Samsung Kies) which makes a conflict with the N900. After that, the flash occured OK.
