If "View > Fit page to width" is ticked, I have the exact behaviour as described. With it unticked, and the browser full-screen, Facebook looks perfect.

Glad it worked for you.

Still, my question goes unanswered. Could someone please post the five general.useragent values from about:config ?

Here you go...

dom.window.useragent.policy : true
general.useragent.contentlocale : chrome://navigator-region/locale/region.properties
general.useragent.locale : en-GB
general.useragent.security : U
general.useragent.vendor : Firefox/3.0a1 Tablet browser 0.2.2 RX-34+RX-44_2008SE_2.2007.50-2

I actually discovered the fix:

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4.0) Gecko/20070423 Firefox/0.8

is the correct string.
