Has anyone tried out a mobile phone headset in the headphone jack? Does the mic work? I had read before that it is supposed to work, but I don't have one to test. Thanks!

EWeek article says that 770 is cabable of using headsets with michophone. ("The 770 tablet appears to have only a single one-eighth-inch headphone jack, but the jack actually supports mobile phone headsets with microphones.")

But tableteer-site says: "The Nokia 770 Internet Tablet with OS 2006 edition does not support the use of phone headsets with microphones. To make Internet calls you will need to use internal microphone of the device." (Tableteer/Support/How do I make internet calls/page 13)

How is it? Is eWeek wrong, or is it just the software not having support yet, but hardware is ready?

Sounds like EWeek are regurgitating "facts" from the Internet without confirming them with Nokia. The headset rumour came, IIRC, from Engadget - the same site which *insisted* that the well-known software update would be a hardware update with slide-out keyboard.

Alternatively, it *does* support a headset, but on the official site it says not until officially supported; c.f. Bluetooth keyboards, IM etc.

This question is for the maemo/770 experts. Does the bluetooth hardware/software of the 770 support the use of a bluetooth headset for both the earpiece and the mic?

That (or a wired earpiece/mic) would be so nice for doing VOIP.

Can anyone confirm/confirm not whether a 4-pin 3.5mm headset with mic will work on the Nokia 770? I would like to use Skype/Gizmo with the 770 in my pocket, just using the headset.
