Quite bad PR blunder not telling clearly that that video was "simulated"...
Tarnishes the tech, which seems to be quite nice based on the actual pictures/videos shot using it.

If you guys check the actual specs of the camera and the sensor, you would stop hating on it..

Its branding yeah but the sensor is probably the best in a smartphone and the fact that the phone keeps its thin shape but provides decent pictures in even crappy low-light situations is remarkable!

Megapixels doesn't mean anything in terms of quality. The backlit sensor used maxes out at 8.7 megapixels. So??

The pictures in low-light really show off this camera performance. You can hate all you want but its definitely a massive jump forward for smartphone cameras..

PS. Nokia released a statement about the faked video! They never intended for it to confuse, it was a demonstration of OIS not a demonstration of the 920.. Sometimes this forum is too biased against Nokia.

Guys, if you see an advert about the camera of a phone, and don't assume first that it was taken with professional gear instead of te actual phone, you're naive.

Like the HTC One Experiment advert (free fall photo shoot). The whole ad is probably taken with video cams and DSLR, although the ad is about how you could use the phone to do professional shoots and video (but themselves certainly don't).

actually the hate is due to Nokia bending backwards to sell their WP devices but all these "goodies" [competitive SoC + RAM + display] were possible on Symbian and especially Harmattan but we were ignored deliberately to make WP a success...That injustice grates many especially when we have just seen further leaks of Nokia Lauta...

Also the presentation yesterday showed how far Nokia has progressed into becoming M$'s lapdog...It was literally a presentation of WP8 with two launch devices thrown in...

IMO, what they should have done was explain that the 808 was a device where over-sampling was the key [with the added intention to stop the Mpix wars once and for all] and progressing onto the final goal of a 41MP module into a slim phone they have reached stage 2 which adds the low-light tech to pureview...Also the MP count could have been anything higher than 8 to get a better mindshare among consumers...Something that was thrown around in the rumours was a 21MP module...Maybe they should have used that instead...

The demos could have been better frankly and instead of WP8 being the centre of attention, the low-light tech and basically Pureview Stage2 should have taken centre-stage...

Edit: Oh and don't forget how there were no pricing, dates and availabitiy info released due to M$ wanting to release more details about WP8 at a later date [this line from Joe yesterday further showed how a once proud company had fallen i.e. It was Nokia World not M$ World

Lumiaman yup big fail for Nokia to have bet their house on WP8 with M$ controlling them to such an extent where they can't even share any details about pricing, release and availability without M$ disclosing it first at a later event...

See now what everyone was saying since Feb.'11?

You are so wrong. The device is beautiful, functional, snappy and I will get it. If i can adjust fonts on it, and if its not N9 abominable over saturated color display that gives me headaches. I above 2 satisfied, I am on it!
