I want to share an idea that come to me.

It will be very useful and I think will find many applications if
the Nokia 770 can be used as better screen for today's digital cameras.

In particular, it will be very interesting to connect a digital camera
to the 770 via the USB cable (by setting the usb-host and power supply
to the 770, etc.). Most today's digital camera supports the "PictBridge"
standard which allow to attach USB printers and print photos without the
need of a PC. So, if the 770 would support the "PictBridge" standard
an user could attach the 770 to its camera, "printing" photos on the screen,
and (I hope in a near future ) manipulate image with GIMP or other stuffs.

What do you think about that?

yeah - that sounds like a good idea - it might be of good use with camera phones-and it wud be easier to connect via bluetooth that way.
it wud mean that u cud take remote pictures - or even mount the camera onto a remote control car and then drive it around sending pics back to the 770 -ok that sounds more like a bomb squad robot camera now - teeehee

Hello, thank for the answer, but I think that the idea will have a great interest
if it remain as simple as possible, in particular from the point of view of an
intermediate user, a photographer with a digital camera that he connect to the
770, press the print button and dysplays the selected image on the 770's screen.

There is someone who know where to find C/C++ sources on Linux implementation
or documentation about PictBridge stuffs?

The 770 *can* be put into USB host mode albeit unpowered. Any of the digital cameras I've owned don't sap any power (that I know of) from the host but there's another issue; The 770 expects a 5 volt input. There are numerous threads about creating a rig to do this but at this point I think everything would get a little bulky.

Still, it's such a nice little screen.
