I was 12 minutes late for the Maemo coding competition deadline, so this entry is not accepted, however, this is it.
It may be handy to share location with friends sometimes, when you meet, or when you go together somewhere.
There is a famous corporation's service for that. But if you use it, you share your location with that coproration,
That's why I decided to develop a decentralized location sharing software.

You login with your jabber/xmpp account to your desired server.

The application get's list of you contacts, and shows only them, who also logged in with the same application.
Your contacts may be on the other servers - jabber permits it.

Then click on the contact name and you will get an OSM map tile with it's location.
The program draws location on the map tile itself, in order to not load openstreetmap servers.
Also, it keeps tiles in it's cach (~/Library/OpenStreetMap) and will not download a tile if it is already downloaded.

Currently binary tarball is available with simple install script. I will build a package and share it in repository later.

Exactly the same version of the software exists for GNU/Linux PC as well. Will upload it soon (wanna sleep now)

License is GPSv3, I will push code to github after some cleanup and debug.

Also, I intent to build a version for Nemo and SHR/GTA02.

today I was testing the application with my own jabber server by walking around some slums.
This proves that the app could be used with your own jabber server, in this example my server talks to google's server, but that could be jabber.org as well.

Sucks that you were just too late...

Glad that people still make apps for Maemo5
Thanks for this app, I'm sure there will be people who finds this very useful!

I will port it to Harmattan sooner or later, just have no device still.
