Hello everybody,

first of all: I *do* have read "some" info about my problem. Unfortunately, I didn't read a solution...

What happened:
I bought a second hand n900, everything fine. As there was no USB cable included, I finally (after some weeks) decided to buy one (to avoid filling the device via wireless). Some days ago, it arrived and I put some music on it. Later, while listening, the device turned off -- and tried to reboot... and reboot... and reboot but doesn't get any further than the Nokia logo.
(Ironically it happened while I was looking for an SDK to try new applications without any risk...)

What I tried:
Based on Updating the tablet firmare [1], I tried to reflash.
The flasher didn't work with Debian 64bit (ia32-libs are installed), so I tried Windows. However, when "booting" the n900, I always hear the USB device attached/removed sound -- as long as I'd like. The flasher always tells me, that there's no suitable device found. At no time a USB icon is displayed on the device's screen.

What I'd like to know:
a) What happened?
b) How to bring back the device to life?

If any more information is required, I'll happily provide it.

Thanks a lot in Advance
Charly
