after installing it, go to terminal and type:
gallerybugx
and then do:
tracker-control -r
reboot, wait 10 mins then check your gallery.
Thank Wook_sf for the deb file
oh! This didn't work either. I did as you said. It's been more than 10 minutes now.

Copy a couple of other pictures to your phone and check after 2-3 mins, if not, try:
tracker-control -r (as user/without devel-su)
then do
tracker-control -r (as root/with devel-su) and check your gallery..

unfortunately I have to ressurect this thread... all media files are in the phone, but none of them in gallery/video/music UI... tried all of these things, gallerybugx deb, tracker-control -r, n9qtweak patch (removing Pictures folder from IgnoredDir), but nothing helped - any idea?

Did you check the output of:

Code:
cat < /home/user/.config/user-dirs.dirs
Paste the output here...

huh, tried to take a screenshot, but got "Something went wrong. Screenshot could not be saved", it looks that something strange is happening... here's the manual c/p:

XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/MyDocs"
XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR="$HOME/MyDocs/Downloads"
XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR="$HOME/MyDocs"
XDG_PUBLICSHARE_DIR="$HOME/MyDocs"
XDG_DOCUMENTS_DIR="$HOME/MyDocs/Documents"
XDG_MUSIC_DIR="$HOME/MyDocs/Music"
XDG_PICTURES_DIR="$HOME/MyDocs/Pictures"
XDG_VIDEO_DIR="$HOME/"

shall I try with the proper full path?

btw this morning lady in the copy office after printing some pdfs from my Nokia N9 in usb mass storage mode unplugged it without clicking the "eject..." before - could it be the reason?

only video is incorrect...

Change it to:

"$HOME/MyDocs/Videos"

after this do a reboot and check whether the change actually stuck or not...

The safely remove device thing is recommended but not a killer...If you are able to view them from a file manager in the device it means the emmc partition is able to mount itself...

thanks, but it didn't help... plus when I try to take a picture with the camera the picture is taken, I get all those status bars up and down on the taken picture with the date, name, and icons downthere, but immediately get "The camera is not responding. Try again or restart the device if the problem continues."... can't believe it...
