I've been trying to send mp3 files from my N9 to my sister's phone via bluetooth.

I tried filebox and qad filemanager. I also tried to zip the files, or rename them without the extension/with a different extension.

    All i get is :
    File format's wrong
Cant share files of that type

My comp's toss, and my sister wanted some music from my phone.

    Is thea workaround to this?

    Just tested. OK.
Worked fine here to send .mp3 file from my N9 (via filebox) to my laptop via BT.

Is it possible the phone you're sending it to doesn't allow it? iPhones are the obvious example there, but there are mobile OS's which only allow certain filetypes.

Workarounds... Well, if the other phone has an FTP client application, you could use one of the FTP servers available for MeeGo. Little fiddly, but means you can transfer over WiFi easily enough.

or if the other phone blocks certain files you could just change the ending of the file e.g. from .mp3 to .txt or whatever (as long as you can change it back on the other phone).

Thank you for the replies, they helped me figure what the problem really was.

The files were in .downloads, soon as i moved them to Music I could transfer them. It appears, one cant send files from a hidden directory then.

Thats strange, but I guess It shouldnt cause any problems.
