I tried to draw my thought - as u can see I'm not good with it.
Don't take my suggestions as a mockup, it's just an idea - u can do better.
The main target in my idea is to find space to enlarge the map.itself.
Landscape mode:
Portrait mode :
maybe in Portrait mode u should use top & bottom space rather then the side ?
I don't know.
can you please remove ~/MyDocs/.waze one more time, run it, make it crash and send the ~/MyDocs/.waze/postmortem file so I can take a closer look at the problem?
I hope to have the opportunity to do so tomorrow. Now the N900's battery has to be charged and I should go to sleep.
also you will need to raise the debug level as described in the first post
O.k., not quite sure if I understand what to do, but let's see tomorrow.
EDIT: There is a postmortem file in ./waze right now, 111 lines in GVim. A fresh crash makes it smaller, I think? Anyway, how shall I post that file here - attach a .txt-file?
I am running CSSU/Thumb version and latest waze release. Waze doesnt respect the orientation lock (which is locked to landscape) on my device.
Thanks for this nice software.

the is small because it is with minimal logging by default. When u'll raise the debug level (from general settings) it will be bigger.

Currently waze is in auto orientation by default regardless of the OS preferences. I will add configuration for that in the future.
Seems to work now. The problem was I was trying to create an account on first run instead of skipping that point. That caused Waze to unsuccessfully search for network.
By skipping, Waze was trying to download my language files. It crashed several times at that point but finally made it.
Waze still didn't talk to me until I raised the debug level as mentioned.
Next time driving I will test the installation under serious conditions.
just asking: is it possible to import real-time traffic condition from other source? For example, the data about the traffic of
some main streets in Italy, are updated every 10 minutes, and are
available under a CCZero licence in a xml file
(http://www.opendata.provincia.roma.i...2-e72c9767f471)
for example using feed the waze? http://feedthe.waze.hu/
but the reports should be updated every 10 mins...and change for example from heavy traffic to light...depending on the average speed mesured on that roads...
