Sorry for the tangent - do you remember what the password is for the vnc server? Trying to connect from ultravnc client I get authentication error. I believe I changed the passord ok in krfb on N800.

@Greyghost - I don't think you locked your system tray by pressing the "Lock" button, you locked your "Session". Have you tried logging out? Or perhaps rebooting? To the best of my knowledge you can't "lock" your system tray.

There is a lock on the taskbar. if you right click there is a lock, if you lock it, you right click again you can unlock it.

PCQ, did you know vnc server was running on your IT?

Tap on that arrow and menu will pop up that allows you to edit the panel. It can be tricky to tap the arrow, so be patient if it takes a few tries.
Hey PinCushionQueen, I have a question for you. I managed to disable the feature you describe above from my taskbar somehow. I think I might have 'locked' the taskbar with a wayward tap, but honestly I am not sure anymore. What I do know is that the vertical line and arrow are no long present and I am unable to add applets or applications to the taskbar.

Do you know how to fix this? PB suggested it's a right-click on the taskbar which I can try with VNC, but honestly I haven't had the time to do that yet. I was hoping ther'd be an easier 'fix'. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Oh dear, Greyghost - I was trying to figure out your locked Panel issue, and accidently locked mine too. I feel like such a dork. Anyways, I searched and searched but can't find an alternative route, other than VNC. I don't know how to use VNC either and haven't had the time yet to figure it out.

    Hey PCQ,

O ack! Sorry about that! I didn't mean to get you in a pickle as well.

I see that PB is working on a right-click solution, so very soon it might be easier than using VNC. Now, I have used VNC, but it was a while ago, and on my N800 at home, and now I have the N810 and I'm at work. I'll give it a go tomorrow when I have some free time.

Thanks so much for trying to help! I definitely *love* KDE and this little bump in the road won't last long, I hope

OMG! This worked! It was amazingly simple. In KDE, I went to Internet, opened RDesktop, created an invitation, got the ip and password, used tight vnc on my pc to get in. It worked and, best of all, I was able to right click and unlock the taskbar! Woo--freaking-hoo!

    PB, KDE absolutely rocks!!

Terminology: BTW, after I looked at it, I realize wasn't locking the 'taskbar'. I was locking the 'panel' and this is why it was a bit confusing for me to figure out. Anyway, thanks again, PB for pointing me in the right direction!

No need to create any invitations, just point vncviewer at tablet IP and connect, passwd is rootme
