4. Nope, it's not internet site quotes only. It's from a scientific paper. And the science page was additional

So, is there any argument of yours which I haven't refuted?
Ad.1 That's why You not supposed to try to convice others for something that You don't understand. Main problem with polish politics is that they have no idea on matters that they deciding about - so like on Your example, You are good in something else (coding), but to proud to say "ok, all that GM is new for me, my opinion is based on what I heard in TV and read in Internet." And there You will find, of course, true and logic opinions but as well some lays, and stuff that is made up to remotly controle the masses - end users in language known to You. As You know it's easy to scare someone with something that is unknown, new, and beond their understanding.
Ad.2 Herbicides have somethin in common with all plants, ehh.
Ad.3 Based on example photo You posted, which contained influence of Herbicides (...) And progres You are making after each response (i.e. google search). You know it, and I know it - that enough.
Ad.4 Found by google search, You have to look at the whole picture, not just few examples that will randomly pop up in Your browser. Try to understand, it's like me giving bug reports witchout right tools for that, blaming that (for example) after installation of new KP51 my pictures won't display properly and because of that it's crap, danger, don't install it. Or after new CSSU I can't use Operator Name Widget - danger, don't install (example of course). You at least have to know the basics batanics, genetics, etc. to take part in anti-GM partisant kind of thing, othervise You are just a clown (relly no offence to You).

Now, please, go back to work on Browser Switchboard, stop messing around and waisting time.

Ok. Now I see I must interfere. Garrett are you a scientist specialized in GM food? If so what are your references? Now, I am not a specialized scientist, I'm an average engineer in electronics. How can you convince me that GM food is good? Or bad perhaps. Remember I know only basics about genetics and biology.

According to what marmistrz says, I see him as me. And I understand his fears. Something new, photos of mutated animals. Totally understandable. Without enough knowledge you can be afraid. Or with knowledge, that would mean GM food is unhealthy.

What I want from you guys is to stop arguing and start proving your points. Marmistrz showed us some pictures, tried to rely on some sources. Garrett? Prove us GM is good for our health and economics in country, even more, show that it's better. It must be better to introduce it. Maybe show us some research analysis of reliable source.

I am trying not to take sides, I used to think that GM food is actually better, now when they want me to eat it, I'm starting to have some doubts. Please guys, try to get me on your side but proving your points.

I heard that you could get prison for riding you biking+alcohol? I think that is a bigger issue for Poland than GMO.

I want to know:
1. What connections does Garrett_PL have with GMO seeing he loves it so much
2. Would he feed GMO to a human infant?
Back to Jolla hahaha jokes

EDIT: Oh not everybody uses CSSU!

I must have misread or remembered wrong that there is some rule about politics on the board.

Of course one could say, don't read the thread if you're not interested, or someone could state that the thread is already in off topic, but nonetheless; politics?

So far, to me, TMO has been one of the nicest forae on the internet to join. Very much so because of the absolute absence of politics in the discussions here. It's a relief from a world full of b******t, politics, your boss, your more than annoying room or housemates and what not. So far, TMO has been an oasis of rationality, creativity and inspiration for many. Why waste another paradise discussing politics?

And last but not least; We have our own version of politics here. The fanboys versus the rest. We do Apple, we buried M$, android takes plenty of punches. Can't that be enough for you guys?

You right. If someone want's to make his mind on that (GM) he will do so, on his own - please do that with open mind, don't be scared of new, fresh and outstanding technology.

That's what they said when DDT was introduced. Anyway, I only wish you answered my questions.

1. Great corporations such as Monsanto can earn a lot.
2. This fight "overpopulation", ffs! Let's all eat GM, we'll live shorter (our beloved politicians won't have to pay us pension - advantage - reduction of budget hole), we'll have cancers - advantage - less people will live on the Earth. Advantage - more pharmaceutical corps will earn More people will die - it's f'n awesome!!! </sarcasm>

Seriously, afaik GM plants are more resistant to some weeds, pests & etc., you can create a super-red tomate which is perfectly round etc.

1. Russian scientists claim that GM probably causes infertility - they'll do more research, but even now they think about banning GM in Russia
2. French scientists claim that GM corn (maize) cause a rise in amount of liver and kindey necrosis and congestion, tumors and death rate 4x bigger than in the control group.
3. True story: Sofia Gatica lives in Argentina, near to the GM soy plantation. The cancer occurence number was 41 times higher than average, her child had disfunctions caused by GM. Sghe was fighting the GM cultivations and she was threatened to be killed (or that her another child would be killed, I don't remember which one was that)
4. GM in fact causes more herbicides to be used
5. GM plants crossbreed with the natural plants, and this way the natural ones are superseded. When it's like in the US that there are no natural cultivations, it's impossible to make a natural cultivation - your plants will get GM-ized by the GM nearby!
6. When GM has some killer gene, 99.9% pest are gonna die. But a little amount will surely survive with some mutation. And this way you'll have superpests!
7. You can't get seeds from the GM plant - you have to buy 'em from Monsanto
8. As GM becomes more popular, Monsanto lifts the seeds' prices, so the whole products will be more expensive
9. The obligatory tests on GM are performed by the producer! All the tests Monsanto did were not long enough - they were 3 months long, when the first problems with the rats appeared after 4 months.
10. We don't really know what the GM food else will do, as it's a really new technology and the GM plants aren't a part of evolution stuff - they don't have "children"
11. GM introduction is irreversible.

I'm interested in this too. There are lots of people who would decide what others should do, but keep themselves away of it, live like before. Just wondering whether Garret_PL is such a person... I'd change the second question to: Would he feed his own child with GM. Garret, Answer please.
