u asked me this before. the country code is 972 for Israel and then my number is 58 491 9030. I've tried like 20 times. is it possible maybe to use my google voice number and pretend I'm in America? i think I'll try that.

i just noticed something. every other country when selected outputs +countrycode. example: jamaica is +1, kenya +245, finland +358. israel has an extra plus ++972. i think that must be my issue but how can i fix it? there's no option to type in the cc manually.

You've nailed the bug

use your favourite text editor and edit the file /opt/waxmppplugin/bin/wazapp/UI/Registration/regmain.qml

the line of your interest is
remove the + from +972 and save it; it should now register fine...

this is fun! so i installed nano for editing the .qml. found the unwanted + and deleted it. but when i try to save the file i get error writing /opt/waxm...... man, this machine don't cut me no slack.

i tried your 2nd method. just copied the command from your post above, pasted it to the termina, hit enter, and i just got more backtalk from the friggin matrix here. you have got to believe I'm trying.

would it help using a different text editor. if so which one?

I think you need root rights to do this. Gain them first, then edit the file

Open terminal type: devel-su at which it'll ask for your password which by default is rootme unless you changed it... Then do the one-line sed command and voila done

If you use nano same you need to be root i.e. devel-su in terminal first as this is above the user's rights which are limited to /home/user/ and its sub-directories...

Oh and I understand your frustration so if you get more "backtalk from the friggnin matrix" doing the above, copy it here or post a screenshot for all to enjoy and pin-point what needs to be done

sweet! that did the trick. i used the first method and edited the file with nano. i got registered and synced in a jiffy after that. actually on my first try to register after fixing the bug i got another error but that was because somebody tried to call me at that exact moment. for a second i thought more adventure was in store for me. too bad, maybe soon. hey funny it seems every other country on the list was fine just mine had the extra plus. like a bug specially delivered to me. I'm flattered and thanks for the help AND the encouragement. sometimes i worry that i might be bothering someone.
