i also have this problem of "downloading failed app" but the only thing is it does not happen with all applications. for eg am not able to download apps like "load applet" ,"tennis" but all others that i hav tried hv worked..also "extra decoders support" was having the same prob abt a week ago but after a few attempts i managed it fine..dont really know what caused the prob and what corrected it...any help is welcome

OK...i figured out what was causing the problems...
in the WIFI i was using i had set the settings as auto retrieve dns...i unchecked this and entered the dns server address provided by my service provider..this corrected both the problems of "download app failed" and also "failed to refresh some catalogues"
