Apologies if this is not the appropriate question to ask this, but...

How does one create a repository so that the packages are visible from the Application Manager in "blue pill" mode? Is the "blessing" done per-package (so I can just hide the supporting libraries), or is it done for the entire repository?

It's by package yes

In the control file, you have to put a proper section:
Section: user/games

So, no need to change dependencies sections (libs,..)
