    Hello,

More than a 1.5 years ago I've created NWTBible — application for reading New World Translation of Bible. Long time I was unable to promote it even to Extras Testing due to dependancy to GTK Webkit.

Year ago I've finally managed to get both libgtkwebkit and NWTBible to Extras Testing. But since I already had N950, app lacked much interest from my side, I have not promoted it and now it is still in Extras Testing. My fault.

Now I want to promote it to Extras, but I've lost all contacts with real users who were contacting me long ago.

So, N900 users, could you please try to install NWTBible, give it a 10-minutes test and if it works correctly for you, vote for its promoting to Extras?

    Voting pages:
    NWTBible itself: http://maemo.org/packages/package_in.../nwtbible/1.3/
    libwebkit-1.0-1: http://maemo.org/packages/package_in...0-svn41137-18/

I would really appreciate your help!

    Hello!

Thanks for trying, but a month ago website from which NWTBible downloads Bible chapters changed its domain name and HTML layout and this broke NWTBible

I hadn't time yet to fix this. I will write here when I will fix the app for using new website.

I am a happy user of this program. I have a couple of languages installed (from before the website changes). One thing that would be nice to have is a way to filter the languages list to only the ones already downloaded. This would make switching between languages a bit easier. Thanks for this wonderful program.

    Hello,

    Sorry for late answer.
Give me a week and I will fix NWTBible. I will user the server of my N9 app MeeBible as a gateway to new jw.org site for NWTBible.

I will see if it is possible for me to add language filtering to the app without having device in hands. I sold my N900 some time ago...

The King James Bible is a good translation, but it was not inspired by God. No translation is inspired, only the original writings. That is why one has to be careful and open minded when analyzing a translation. The book "Truth in Translation: Accuracy and Bias in English Translations of the New Testament" is an excellent resource for understanding this.

The New World Translation is an excellent translation.

    Hi all,

    Please try this version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8yrd9tdjfr..._1.4_armel.deb

I have no N900 and so I can't test it thoroughly. But I hope it should work.
