Looks nice and I absolutely support such ideas, but 9600 mAh still seems doubtful. From the picture, it looks like you're either using 4x ~14500 Li-Ion (model, not capacity), or even NiMH's (I hope not, for your device's sake).

Even taking into account possibility of 4x 14500, they would hardly get 9600 capacity in real life. Even 8000 mAh would be very good result. It is just what they've sticked on label, or you've actually did on-device measurement?

Generally, more technical details, please. Cells, who produce them, where bought, what you've used to mount with N900...

bogdanov_s, can you please tell us what cells/battery's you are using as estel says it looks like 14500 or AA battery's

If it is 4x AA battery's you don't have 9600mAh you have 2400mAh, sorry but this is how battery's work

If it is 14500 you will be looking at a MAXIMUM of 4000mAh but more likely it will be 2800mAh

I hope he answers, as I am curious. Must say tho', judging by the outlines it looks like just two equal-sized "cylinders" in there. If right, about AA in length but fatter - 18500s?

poor 900...it's thick enough as it is. Buy extra batteries and swap 'em out.

The battery type are 18500 li-ion (as original battery) 3.7v 4800 mAh
two pieces of them

batteryes are only 2 the original battery is remove and it work very nice for now

i charge them with usb charger ~1 A

this is secong charge for them since i buy them so .. i don't have what other to say for now ..

befor do that i have only one battery of this type
and the result were good i think
battery lose only 20% on music some time and web browsing for about 7 days .. i dont have enought patience for full test .but with this battery i'll do that



only i have one question how i can get real battery status on my n900

and what is the most powerful charger witch is safe to use 2 A or more

Also, if you search this thread (using thread not site search function) for the word "calibration" you will find various discussions. You WILL have to be patient though and let that monster run down.

There is no such thing as 4800 mAh Li-Ion 18650(or any other type of comparable size). The're fake, I suppose max 2Ah capacity for each, totalling at 4000 mAh - just a little more, than what you would get with "inside" battery of mugen cover.

The biggest 18650 I've seen that got confirmed capacity, are 3000 mAh 18650 from phillips or panasonic (one of those two, not both I always mix those two marks). They're quite expensive, but using them, you would get 6000 mAh.
