Is there any way to disable hildon-home so I can run lipstick ui or something diffrent on desktop? I would be happy if could see something new on desktop. I tried dsmetool -k /usr/bin/hildon-home but only icons/widgets disappeared.

Really, there is no way to disable screen with widgets/icons?

The icons and widgets are displayed by hildon-home, not hildon-desktop. Perhaps you could tell exactly what you want to do?

hildon-desktop is, among others, the window manager. Do you want another window manager?

I want to change my desktop with widgets to another (example lipstick) not window manager.
    Sorry for my English

    Lipstick as in https://github.com/nemomobile/lipstick?

You could try building it, including the example-home (https://github.com/nemomobile/lipstick-example-home/) and then run it and see what happens.

    Have you done that already?

If that works, then you would just need to run this instad of hildon-desktop.

But honestly, I don't know what exactly this lipstick does and how compatible if may be with Maemo (I assume you still want to be able to open programs, see notifications, etc.)

I compiled it long time ago (without notifications and other things) but the problem is how to disable hildon-home, for now I can only disable all icons using dsmetool.

When I run lipstick on maemo I have terrible performance (1-2fps) in switcher window (in application window I have 40-60fps) and a lot of errors:
X Error: BadPixmap (invalid Pixmap parameter) 4
    Major opcode: 54 (X_FreePixmap)
    Resource id: 0x4a0062f
    Any ideas why?
On pc with debian I have the same errors and empty thumbnails.
