I and apparently a few others have not been able to figure out how to pair an internet tablet with AT&T Mobile smartphones since AT&T became Cingular, or vice versa, or whatever. I followed these instructions and got my 770 to pair with my Cingular 8125:
The trick seems to be that the access point name is wap.cingular but the username is ISP@CINGULARGPRS.COM.
My question is: now that I have this working (again), how exactly is this working? What I mean is, is the data coming through my cellular data plan? It works just fine when I have the 8125 set to all wifi network access. I don't have a tether plan. I'm pretty sure I have a medianet plan still from several years ago. I know this question gets asked a lot, but I never really understood what's going on here.
