You could try to dye the felt interior yourself. People have dyed their jeans black or blue for years, perhaps these denim dyes work here as well? Hopefully the leather exterior won't absorb too much of the dye to become spotty...
Personally, I don't think the pouch is too bad. And even if it was, I've developed a motion to get the N810 out of the pouch so that the pouch stays in my jeans/jacket pocket.
