@rswelter can you please tell me which .bin file worked for you flashing cmt only?

Did you use from product code mentioned on SIM tray or other?
I had changed product code via nemesis suite.

Hi rswelter,

Your sim works but the camera is having an issue?

Try as root in terminal to type the following:

apt-get install camera-ui libqcamera1 --reinstall

I have possibly good news for us chinese N9 owners. I am still very guarded with my comment, but it looks promising.
In answer to your question, yes I used the main.bin from the sim tray. in my case was a 003 aka chinese version. I would recommend you try what i did. I also tried nemesis, but had no luck. yes i was able to change product code, but thats it. afterwards i still was unable to flash(using phoenix, i never tried winflasher w/new product code).
my code looked something like this flasher>flasher -F nameofyourold.bin --flash-only=cmt -f
note that i did this after doing a full reflash with in my case a 009 main and emmc.bin files. I recvd the sim card error and after doing the cmt flash, it was gone. on my first flash, i also had a "unable to use camera while connected to pc msg" that is gone now!! fixed?
I am also downloading new maps, also a previous problem. I would give it a try, though you may need to change your product code back in nemesis to prevent other errors???
stay tuned I will report back on how my N9 is fairing!

I got it all working, fingers crossed!! details in my previous post. I had a John Wayne moment and went for it. I will file away your method, just in case it reappears. when you say terminal, do you mean the app? I see two terminal apps? I will keep you updated. thanks a bunch for the help!!! incidentally, is their a way to back up my system files for a reflash in lieu of doing all of this piece meal?

If you mean doing a backup for the --flash-only=cmt, i don't think there is a way to back it up instead of doing a flash with both pr legacy images...

When you turn on developer mode from settings, there is a terminal app installed, you can use that or any other terminal app its not an issue

I also did it, finally after almost 3 months of waiting.
Here is how I did it.
1)Downloaded fw file for chinese white 64GB variant.
2) Tried flashing cmt only with this file.
3) During flashing I got this(which i never had got earlier)
[x] cmt-mcusw [finished 100 % 6050 / 6050 kB 3156 kB/s]
4) But still it showed error on overall progress.
5) I just then thought of switching on phone and seeing settings-about. and to my surprise wlan,bluetooth ids were there and it was not crashing.
6) Then I took german 009 fw(which was latest i had tried), I flashed it completely(not just cmt but all)
7) After this, phone showed IMEI in settings -about.
8) I tried checking with SIM and it worked.
Great !!!!

Still , I feel there are some connection issues as network seems to be dropping sometimes. This was happening a lot initially but now seems to have improved a lot.

Thanks all for help and tips, so it wasn't hardware issue afterall.

P.S. - Please note that my N9 was from Poland(Central europe variant) which I had changed to Indian via nemesis and flashed Indian FW.

Glad to here that you have improved your phone. thanks do not belong to me alone. mostly to the moderator "thedead1440" he has helped me to help you. we are both thankful for the forum!!
You must decide if you are happy enough with your phones performance. be cautious because you could easily put the phone back into brick status!! as I mentioned in original post, I did a back to back flash main then emmc. then setup a sim tray based cmt only flash and Walla!! my Frankenstein is Alive!!!
Caution: some have reflashed with phoenix! or possibly Nokia/ovi suite. I attempted a reinstall w/ nokia/ovi suite and that idea re-bricked my phone. my advice dont do it. !!! if you cant live with your phones performance try doing it the way I did. So far I am very happy, albeit just one day!!

@rswelter actually I am not happy with network performance.It is very unstable sometimes. What happens is - IMEI no doesn't show up in settings - about dialogue sometimes. Phone loses network. Only way to bring it back is to restart. I am thinking og trying to change product code to original(central europe) again.What is version of nemesis suite you are using? For me nemesis won't detect phone at all , but I had changed product code once. I have Windows 7 64 bit OS, if that makes any difference. I am not very hopeful about this but will try it anyways. Main thing is , now I know that issue is not harware related so that is important.

My N9 is back in trouble. Last night it couldn't find the house wifi so I rebooted the phone. It just kept booting. So I flashed the phone as I did back in page 52. I still have the firmware files on my laptop so I flashed main.bin and emmc.bin and then as my phone is Chinese I flashed old.bin flash only cmt. Now the phone boots to the user guide tour and boots again until I get an error too many boots. My N8 is drafted back into action.

when your phone was flashed to indian what was the product code before and after the flash? did it really change.
my nemesis is v 1.0.38.15
just thinking now, rule out any problems w/ your sim and/or network frequencies. have you checked your sim settings on the ph. dual vs gsm vs 3g? maybe it is the network and ph. is ok.
I would consider putting the prod code back to original and start over if you verify your sim works fine in another device.
