It's easy to criticise for attention or trollyness value, to provide constructive/substantive criticism is much harder, but much more interesting & invaluable.
Have to somewhat agree though, if it's only orange or green (which we don't know), then I hope it's not intense orange or green, make it slightly subdued.
Intense will appeal to some users but overall it's too polarising, if they want to appeal to a broader swathe of users they'll need to "dial it down"...
Ultimately it's just colours we're talking about, there's MANY other things that are way more important to most avg/power users, that's what I want to hear about.

The color is more important than you think(except for you since I don't know your preferences)

If we look at the n9 I'm sure that black was the most sold followed by blue and last, pink. Now, orange is like pink in mu opinion. Very few customers, green is like blue with a bit more acceptance. Now, if the going down this road without a 'strong' pre liked color(black/white/grayish) I'm afraid they lose lots of potential customers.

Edit: n9 wasn't the best example since the flash drive differs

In the recent interview to Technonation CTO Mosconi said that "There are no issues with performance [of the Android apps], we don't know yet how much faster they will be on our OS, but they should gain something in terms of speed".
So they expect to run at least on par with the original platform (which IMHO is not so surprising, considering Java+VM Android's nature).

But its not all about performance, usability is also important, many apps still uses back button and sometimes even menu. Not sure how that will be handled. Either way it would be nice to finally see it running.

If someone sees the most important talks from that conference posted, please share them here ASAP.

I'd be surprised if performance is actually better across the board.
Even if it is, I hope they're able to address more important stuff like:
(1)
Seamless integration between the completely difference UX's (as far as that's feasible)
(2)
A large subset of Android 4x apps being accessible at the device's launch with little-to-no issues

I meant that the size of the drive comes with different sizes(64GB or 16GB) and that affect the decision and not just the color.
