    I know, but as i said - i'm using the "low" level and still - it is very loud. i want to set it lower than that.

    i hear loud music, and waze's guidance really shouts the directions even with its low volume set.

    Option 2:
    Assuming you use N9/50 - modify /etc/pulse/xpolicy.d/waze_xpolicy.conf group to "game" or "camera" (no quotes).
    On the N900 - modify /etc/pulse/xpolicy.conf find waze (should be at the end of the file), and change its group to one of those defined in that file.

    After each change -> do a phone restart

    i'm using n900. i didn't know about this file before. tried to read about it a little but couldn't find a source that explains how it can be configured.
    the group sections do not contain any volume level number:

    [group]
    name = idle
    flags = nopolicy
    sink = sink.null
    source = sink.null.monitor

    some help to understand this will be appreciated.

    Sorry for my english.
    Waze uses 4.5 MB of data for 30 km! Is it normal if data compression is turned on, and use that route every day?

    It is possible. Each route request can reach upto 5MB, depending on the route complexity (street counts, turn counts, etc...). Each route recalculation the is caused by traffic might be less than the previous route request - because the number of streets/turns might decrease.

    The sounds are extremely loud because waze is impersonating as a ringtone (as if the phone rings). Changing it to other profile (group) will force it to use other volume settings.

    Yisroel491,

    Its probably due to the whole MeeGo OBS and repo being taken offline by Intel.

    Yes, just be sure to download for the correct device (N9 or N900).
