Hello everyone,

for the first time today, I am not able to start my device.

I installed to the last CSSU update this morning, the "update istalled successfully device will restart" notification appeared but then it failed to start.

Got the vibration, the nokia logo and then the screen stayed half light in black, no loading dots appear.

PC does not recognise it until I power it off and on again when it briefly recognises it as "n900 connected in update mode" and then back to nothing...

please help

Connect it by pressing and holding the u key and reflash

I thought I'd take off the battery before proceeding to flash, and there it was... booted up and she's working fine again!

I thought I've lost her for a minute...

The nitdroid booted fine though.

You forgot to mention the
'Operating system installed successfully'
note after it had finally booted.

Unfortunately, after changing the regional settings and performing a reboot, the problem persists.

Guys, can someone with "reboot loop" problem install syslog from tools repo and recreate the problem, so we can see in the logs WTF is going on. Thanks.

wow...my n900 also have this problem after update cssu..now its reboot loop all the time...
i already remove the battery...and pacle it again...still not work..
is there any solutions beside reflash??
or how long it take to remove your battery before insert it again?

Had a problem with booting after today update. Removing the battery for > 5 min didn't help. But when I removed the battery and both SIM and flashcard, N900 booted like a charm.

After your problem was solved, did you try to reboot again?
What happened then?
All of us from non-english regions, after changing the regional settings we will have to reboot once more so that they come in effect. Then the problem appears all over again.

seems like a bug in latest CSSU update. i haven't updated my device yet and i can also provide syslog but will take a hour or two.

After some experiments I can tell that my problem is solved with removing the 8Gb memory card from the slot. With the empty slot N900 boots flawless and then I just insert the card back in slot and everything works fine as far as I can see.

Right now I switched off my N900... now I'm switching it back on...no luck.

Ok, I'm removing the batt and the memory card...switching on...booting...pin code correct...nokia tune....booted. Now trying to reboot...switched off...back on...pin code...tune. It works.
