Hi all, I have problem with my N900, usb port on the device broke (caused by powerbank I guess).
It can't charge the phone nor read/write to disk.

I tried to solder it but no succeed (I don't know if this because I can't solder it well or it was too severly damaged)

My last option is to bring it to Nokia care center.

After more than one week, I got news from that nokia care center.
They said they can't repair it too.
Its machine must be replaced with new one and it will be cost around $200.

I just want to know maybe there are some of you having same experience with me.
Is it true that a broken usb port can't be repaired?
Did I have another solution?

thank you.

Does no one use the search any more? There are a number of threads about this very issue, the most important of which is this one:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=75920

It is only 23 pages long so it should not take that long to at least browse through it. There are a few posts in that thread showing how to solder the USB port to different points on the board if the original pads are ripped off (osts 44, 198 and 217 stood out in the first 20 seconds just by browsing for pictures). The first post also contains a few useful links.

Sorry, my bad.
I was careless for not searching before making a new thread.

I will try to read it page by page hope I can do something useful.
thank you.

Sorry if I was a bit harsh. Here is also a good source of information:
