You don't need somewidget just someplayer. It can be a little hit and miss on mobile internet connections. I will have to make some improvements to the connection handling.
You might want to try and restart.
You can debug the widget (a little) as follows:
in a terminal type:

and look at the output...
It should also print out the URL for the song lyrics. You might want to check this in a browser to see if there are really no lyrics available.
I executed it and started a song in some player - the only repeating output in xterm is this:
"dbus-send --type=method_call --print-reply --dest=ru.somebody.someplayer / ru.somebody.someplayer.title_artist_album"
